Dr. Tanya Holland, Psychologist
Dr. Tanya Holland attended graduate school at Rutgers University, where she obtained her Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology. She chose to attend Rutgers because of its observable commitment to diversity, both in recruitment and training. She completed her pre- and post- doctoral training at the UC Davis CAARE Center. As a licensed clinical psychologist for approximately 16 years, she has provided trauma-informed care to children and adults who have suffered trauma at the hands of their families, their neighborhoods and the justice system. An underpinning of her approach to care is the understanding that it isn’t always big “T” traumas that cause suffering; little “t” traumas can be equally as damaging. She believes that providing a compassionate space is a necessary component of healing and restoration.
